Of all the different types of assignments that I do, location work in industry, both on the ground and in the air, is by far my favorite. Being trained in the Air Force during “troubled times” one learns to shoot, for real. With limited time, you need to get it right the first time. No checking the digital display and asking for another fly-by! The same goes for an industrial shoot. See the product, understand how it can be framed in its best light, and shoot. I shoot industrial photography for clients to be used in websites, ads, brochures, trade shows and annual reports.
From corporate head-shots to details of machinery, the active floor of a wood processing plant, natural gas pipeline, mine, or studio products, they all have a place in my portfolio. Although I could never pick just one thing, my favorite is industrial work. I’m not really sure why. Some people think I’m crazy. Why would you prefer the sometimes dirty plant environment on a cold Northern Ontario morning to that of cozy studio shoot.I guess it’s just that I’m comfortable with the people and the places that industrial photograp
